Abstract: This layer depicts the general perimeter of fishing effort for spot prawn (Pandalus platyceros) from 1993 to 2021. Oregons spot prawn fishery fishes exclusively for spot prawns, formerly using trawl gear (1993-2003) and long lined pot gear (1993-2021) over rocky habitats in small areas along the Oregon Coast between approximately 80-140 fathoms. Fishery logbook data are recorded on standardized data sheets by fishermen during their fishing operations. The logbooks are later turned over to ODFW for data entry and processing. Because the data are recorded by many independent sources, ODFW cannot guarantee the accuracy of all logbook data.This layer was developed for large-scale offshore wind energy development planning off of Oregon, and should be used for that purpose only. Use for offshore wind siting or other purposes would require additional analyses of the data.
