Abstract: This data layer was created using a data set that depict the occurrence of submarine cables in and around U.S. navigable waters found here https://www.fisheries.noaa.gov/inport/item/66194. No overlap of cables is present within the Brookings Call Area, and minimal overlap remains in the Coos Bay Call Area. A 500 and 1,000 m setback were added due to potential interactions with the industry.
Purpose: These data depict the relative suitability of submarine cables implemented within the NCCOS suitability analysis for siting wind energy areas within BOEM’s Oregon Call Areas. This layer only covers the BOEM Call Areas.
